BOTART is an art exhibition of a large collective group of artists. We carefully select Local & International artists and invite them to present their personal artistic style on a free standing wooden wine barrel. The Barrel Artifact is presented in exhibitions with other original barrels and works of the artist, such as canvass art, sculptures and mix media.
Art and Wine are two magnificent contemporaneous experiences. BOTART
promotes an artists creative abilities by presenting their art on a wooden Wine Barrel
Artifact, or ‘BOTA’ as it is called in Mallorca, Spain.

The BOTART idea was started on Mallorca, Spain and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Mallorca (make this link to their site). The first exhibition BOTART I was presented in 2008 and the BOTART II edition was presented in 2010.
Bodegas Ribas, founded on Mallorca in 1711, was the original creator of the idea of presenting contemporary artists on Wooden Barrels. It is the third oldest family winery in Spain. (Mallorca is the birth place of Father Junípero"Serra’s. this links to Juniper Serra page)
The Ribas eighteenth century stately home is preserved intact to the present day, maintaining the historic barreled cellars and on-site production. The philosophy of the family of winemaking strives for excellent quality through the introduction of elegant, personal and marked territorial wines. Wine is Art.
The Wineries 40 hectares has the greatest diversity of native wine varieties on the island. Harvested by hand, their qualities make up the pillars of the philosophy of the family: Absolute respect for the land, their history and legacy.
The BOTART Exhibition, originally created in Mallorca, presented the strategy to bring the prestigious Barrel Art Exhibition to California (BOTART III) in 2014/2015.
